How to keep or get re-energised while the seasons change.
Autumn brings the beautiful leaf falls of reds, oranges and browns that may make us feel comfortable, nostalgic, cheerful and optimist to these warm colours. The colours can be inspiring for changes. As daylight gets shorter in winter, this could be used as a moment to reflect and re-energise yourself.
Thoughts… I’m watching a nice TV program, messaging a friend/family, Zoom-calling my family and will go to bed when it’s finished
Tips
- Try to switch off from all tech devices, including TV, at least 30min before going to bed.
- If you can, drink a cup of a decaf herbal tea, such as jasmine, camomile, lavender, passionflower or chamomile, etc, to help you to relax.
- Essential oils can also be a powerful way to help you relax and sleep better. Although research on the use of essential oils is limited, lavender essential oil is widely recognised as a natural sleep aid.
- 10 mins deep breathing exercise in bed sends the message to your brain that you are ready to rest.
- Or 10 mins reading a book
These above have been proved as a powerful techniques that help the brain to recognise it is time to switch off and rest.
Having good nights sleep will make you energised and more resilient. You will feel ready for the day, happier even with less sunlight coming through your window, more open minded for changes and challenges, more creative and, most importantly, more relaxed and happier.
And remember to include hydration, fresh air, exercise and as healthy a diet as you can in your daily routine to optimise your health and wellbeing.

It’s a good idea to focus on your wellbeing and review what helps. Thanks.
